This workshop in no way replaces the GACE Computer Skills Compentency Test and you are not guaranteed a passing score as a result of taking the CSI Workshop.

CSI Workshop participants that do not pass the GACE Computer Skills Competency Test make retake the CSI Workshop at no charge.

CSI Workshop

The Computer Skill Competency test provided by Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) assesses competency in three subareas.  The ETC at NSC has developed a one day workshop that provides professional learning in each of the subareas for teachers.  The workshop is not a replacement for the GACE test, nor do we guarantee you will pass the GACE upon completion of the workshop.  We do allow participants that complete the CSI Workshop to retake the workshop for FREE should they not receive a passing score on the GACE Computer Skill Competency Test.

  • Basic Operations, concepts and issues related to computer-based technology and electronic communication

    • Understand basic concepts, terminology, operations, and maintenance and care of computer hardware, software, and related peripheral devices

    • Understand acceptable use policies, issues related to the legal and ethical use of technology, and issues related to the safe and secure use of technology

    • Understand characteristics and functions of Internet tools for communication and research

  • Using Technology-Based Productivity Tools

    • Understand the effective use of word processing software

    • Understand the effective use of presentation software

    • Understand the effective use of spreadsheet and database software

  • Integrating Technology into the Classroom

    • Understand concepts related to the design and management of effective technology enhanced learning environments

    • Understand concepts related to the design and implementation of technology enhanced instruction that addresses the diverse needs of all students

 

Workshop Fee:  $50
The cost of this one day workshop is $50 (non-refundable), paid in ADVANCE (payment WILL NOT be accepted at the workshop).  We DO NOT guarantee that this workshop will produce a passing score on your GACE Computer Skill Competency Test, but will allow CSI Workshop participants that do not receive a passing score on their test to retake the CSI Workshop free of charge as many times as they need.
